hello world. am currently sitting in a hotel room in nyc stuffed full of room service pancakes and cappuccino. seriously you would think i would be able to eat 3 pancakes but all the food in US comes in such big portions that even a pig like me cant finish it without wanting to vomit.
landed on saturday morning. the customs ppl are very nice here. the immigration officer had extremely pretty eyes. actually i think they're nice to us cos my sis and i dont exactly look threatening. they asked us stupid things like what are you studying in school and do you know where your father works. HA!!
missed the manchester derby cos i was 10000km up in the air, but man u won 3-1, saha ronaldo rooney. YAY!!
first day was cold cold cold. and i was jet lagged. went to hotel. went out walking to check out where the OLD NAVY is. they dont sell my polo tees anymore dammit. now they sell winter stuff. which means i wont be able to buy jonny's polo tee. sorry jon.
went to a jap restaurant for dinner. i couldnt finish my food as usual. seriously, everything is so big you just dont feel like eating after a while. it gets tiring to chew. made the mistake of only wearing one sweater when i went for dinner. i was shivering and my teeth were chattering after 2 minutes outside. can you imagine? bloody freezing.
came home and just crashed. next day, which was yesterday, we went to woodbury common, which is this place in upstate new york. its a huge compound with all sorts of designer brand factory outlet shops. hence, prices are lower and sometimes they even have discounts on the lower prices. got a winter coat for 80 bucks. usual price- something like 250.
bought a coat, 3 sweaters, levi's jeans(25 US DOLLARS PPL!!!) lots of pretty underwear, a beanie, socks, a fossil watch (8 US DOLLARS FOR A FOSSIL WATCH!) and my shoppin total came to just under a hundred bucks. omg seriously its heaven. last time when my dad lived in the US (approx 10 yrs ago) the prices were even lower, but due to the influx of jap tourists, prices have gone up. ah well. you'd never get deals like this in sgp, so i'm happy.
gotta bathe now, then my sis and i are gonna try and find old navy on our own.ok mtv here is quite interesting. lots of funny reality shows. but the other channels sorta suck. lots of trashy tv. |
